Mickey Traub relocated from Grand Blanc, Mi to Columbia, SC where he recently received his B.A. in music education from the University of South Carolina.  Mickey grew up in the greater Flint/Detroit metro area and has participated in many different marching activities. His marching career started in 2004 with the Americano's Drum and Bugle Corps and he aged out of the marching activity in 2010 with a W.G.I. Gold medal. He has lived around the country, including Michigan, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, and West Virginia.



Mickey was a member of the Americano's Drum and Bugle Corp. in 2004, where he started performing in the Front Ensemble. In 2005, in pursuit of his future, Mickey marched baritone horn with the Capital Regiment Drum and bugle Corps. Mickey began his WGI career in 2006 with Independent World Class percussion ensemble known as Great Lakes Percussion. In 2007 - 2009 Mickey joined up with North Coast Academy, collecting forth, fifth, and seventh place victories in Independent World Class With North Coast Academy. Mickey also gained a European Championship Gold Medal in 2009. Mickey, making the move to South Carolina, then joined forces with Palmetto Percussion in the winter of 2009 where he helped lead the group to an Independent Open World Championship. 2011 marked the first year that Palmetto Percussion competed in WGI world class where the group meet their goal and progressed to World Class finals. In 2012, after a semester of student teaching, Mickey helped Chapin High school's batterie push to win their first State Championship in  26 years. This was also the first time a lower-state band had claimed victory in the class AAA.
